Hospice du Rhone is hosting the third and final part of their Ready, Set, Syrah series on 3/24/10. This time it is all about Washington state Syrah, just in time for Washington Wine Month! Previous Ready, Set, Syrah events explored California, French, Australia and South African Syrahs.
On March 24, 5pm PST, wine lovers around the country will start tasting Washington Syrah and sharing their impressions via the Taste Live interface. Taste Live allows wine drinkers to communicate with wine makers in real time. You can be sitting at your dining room table in North Carolina sipping Syrah and ask the wine maker in Seattle about the vines from which that wine was made. Taste Live is a great way to learn about wines and you can scan past conversations during Ready, Set, Syrah on the Hospice du Rhone Taste Live page.
Four Washington wineries will be online and participating in Ready, Set, Syrah: Washington:
- Columbia – 2006 Columbia Valley Syrah
- DeLille Cellars – 2007 Doyenne Syrah, Yakima Valley
- Gramercy Cellars – Syrah “Lagniappe” Columbia Valley
- K-Vintners –Syrah “Phil Lane” Walla Walla Valley
Wine Beer Washington is pleased to be the sponsor of the Seattle tasting for Ready, Set, Syrah: Washington.
We invite you to join us as gather to taste, talk and tweet about Washington Syrah. We will be tasting the wines in a modification of our “pair and share” style. At most of our tasting events, we ask guests to bring some type of food to pair and share with the wines. It adds to the fun and we get to experiment with good food and wine. Because the start time is 5pm, we know that it can be challenging to have to bring/find food that time of day. Bring something to pair and share if you can, but if that isn’t possible we will bring extra food and ask that you toss a couple of dollars into the basket to help cover our food budget. There will also be an additional couple of Washington Syrahs for tasting, outside of the TasteLive experience, to broaden our Washington Syrah experience!
We will be tasting at the NW Wine Academy in West Seattle where we will have a big screen set up showing the conversations online. You don’t need a Taste Live or a Twitter account to participate but we will have wifi access for those that want to bring their laptops and join in.
RSVP via our contact form and we will send you all of the details!
