Pyramid Brewing recently released its spring seasonal, Lemondrop Citrus Pale Ale. Pyramid Brewing’s Lemondrop Citrus Pale Ale replaces the Triangulate Citrus as their spring seasonal ale.
Although the Lemon Drop Citrus Pale Ale replicates the Triangulate Citrus in many ways, I find that I am enjoying the Lemon Drop Citrus Pale Ale more. This beer seems to have more spunk and personality. This Washington Pale Ale is quite fruit forward, literally bursting with lemon aroma and flavor. It is quite lemon colored and slightly opaque. Nugget, Cascade and Lemondrop™ hops are refreshing and provide a great balance to the fruitiness of the beer. It drinks like a really pleasing pale ale with a bunch of lemon fruit and rind upfront then the bitterness kicks in with more lemon rind and grassiness and herbal notes. Being made with real lemon peel, wheat and oats makes this a nice medium bodied springtime ale. I found the Lemon Drop Citrus to be a great companion while I was gardening in the sun. How will you enjoy yours?
