The first annual Spokane Oktoberfest opened under cloudy skies, and with a relatively small crowd at 4pm Sept 24, 2010. That first wave through the gates was small but enthusiastic about trying the diverse selection of Washington beers on tap. When the Riverfront Clock Tower struck 5pm, there was a small line to get into the brewfest and a nice size crowd mingling the grounds and enjoying the sun breaks....

The Washington Beer Commission Oktoberfest is coming to Spokane on September 24-September 26, 2010. This is the very first Washington Beer Commission sanctioned event east of the cascades. That is great news for folks in Eastern Washington and a great opportunity to take a trip to Spokane

Fremont Oktoberfest is one of the wackiest and wildest Oktoberfests in Washington state. This Oktoberfest is more in line with the creative culture of Fremont than the traditional harvest celebrations in Europe. The creative twists plus world class beer is what makes the Fremont Oktoberfest recognized as one of the top ten Oktoberfest celebrations in the US. The 2010 Fremont Oktoberfest runs from Friday,...

The official Oktoberfest is a 16-18 day* celebration in Munich, held in late September and early October. What started out as a wedding reception is now celebrated around the world, honoring beer, food and music. A variety of vendors offered an assortment of food, novelty and crafted items for purchase. The food ranged from traditional bratwurst to BBQ to Yakisoba. Joe’s Smoked Bratwust was so good we...

This year the Washington Beer Commission and the Washington Beer Lovers (WABL) are shaking up Oktoberfest or at least they are moving on down south. Instead of creating a stand-alone Oktoberfest, they have joined the Enumclaw Oktoberfest where they will reigning over the Oktoberfest beer garden this weekend. The Enumclaw Oktoberfest runs October 9-10 at the Enumclaw Exposition Center, formerly the King...

We made sure that we were one of the first few through the gates at the Fremont Oktoberfest Friday evening. We like to party with the best of them, but we also appreciate low volume crowds so we can really savor our beer while the sun is shining. As the sun goes down, the crowds come and the streets turn into Party Town. It is fun but we find it easier to review beers when it is less crowded and easier to...

Oktoberfest has been around since 1810, but the WABL version keeps reinventing itself. In the past, it has been held at Pyramid Brewery and at St Edwards Park. It’s latest reincarnation is a joint effort with the city of Enumclaw. This year Enumclaw is putting together their first annual Oktoberfest, October 9-10, 2010 at the Enumclaw Exposition Center (formerly the King County Fairgrounds).
