Last June we had the good fortune to discover Glencorrie Winery at the Seattle Wine Awards. In fact, we liked the Glencorrie lineup of red wines so much that we made a point of going to their winery later that month when we visited Walla Walla.

What makes these Washington wines so great? Perhaps it’s because production is limited to just about 650 cases of wine in order to produce the highest quality wine possible. Or maybe it’s because they’re striving to produce food friendly wines. Whatever it is, they’re doing something right! Personally, I like that Glencorrie’s wines are fruit forward and not overly oaked. Plus, they are showing great now while having some structure to stand the test of time.

The Bad News

The bad news is that with limited production, we don’t often come across Glencorrie wines. The good news is that Ronn Coldirion, one of the proprietors of Glencorrie Winery will be in town this weekend. If you are one of the lucky ones, you already reserved your seat at their winemaker dinner being hosted by Andaluca Restaurant because it is sold out with a long wait list.

Good News You Can Use

However, if you neglected to plan ahead don’t despair! Ronn will also be pouring his wines in Seattle on Saturday.
