Looking for a great deal on wine? Whitman Cellars next Wine Liquidation Sale will be held in Kent, Washington this weekend on Friday, June 1st and Saturday, June 2nd. This is what happens when a winery ends up in bankruptcy. How does it work? Sales are open to the public and payments must be made in cash or by major credit or debit card.
Eastern Washington customers can still receive prices and availability for pre-orders and pick up in Walla Walla by emailing email@example.com.
Pairing Notes and Pricing
Many varietal bottlings are still available at heavily discounted prices. Plus, there is an additional 10% discount on purchases of 5 or more cases so now is the time to stock up for all your parties. The selection includes but is not limited to the following.
2007 Narcissa Red, a blend composed of 91% Cab Sauv, 7% Merlot, and 2% Cab Franc is fantastically food friendly. It offers notes of chocolate, hazelnuts, and dried cherry. It mingled nicely with our salmon dinner and side of roasted tomatoes. Case sale price $120 (regularly $288).
2006 Walla Walla Valley Merlot is meant for the old world wine lover. Case sale price $180 (regularly $384).
2005 and 2006 vintages of the Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon are great wines for vegetarians. That might sound odd, but we found that when these wines were paired with a green bean and salsa verde dish as well as with a kale salad, the wine stood up to them and even transformed to a higher level. Case sale price for the ’05 is $168. The ‘06 is for sale at $216 (each was regularly $432).
Disclosure: these wines were provided as sample bottles.
