The 2012 Washington Brewers’ Festival is June 15-17, 2011, traditionally held on Fathers’ Day weekend, this is THE big daddy of brew fests. Spanning over three days this summer beer festival, boasts over 200 beers from over 64 breweries. From Winthrop, Pullman, Oak Harbor to Olympia, Washington breweries are converging at Marymoor Park to pour a vast selection of beers from the classic to the freakishly wonderful and unique one off beers.
New at 2012 Washington Brewers’ Festival
The big news is the new location, this year the Washington Brewers’ Festival has moved to Marymoor Park in Redmond. Boasting better parking and bus service, Marymoor Park offers another change in the evolution of Washington beer festivals.
Gourmet Food trucks like Skillet Street Food are joining the line up of fun fair food, offering more food options than ever before.
Buzz cart offers unique small lot beers that are offered only for a specific time. The Buzz cart announcements will be announced at different times on Saturday and Sunday. When the call goes out, you want to run over and get a taste before it is gone!
Want to watch your favorite brewers flex their muscles and make fools of themselves? Of course you do! The keg toss happens on both Saturday and Sunday and it is always a crowd favorite.
Eat, Drink and be Merry
This year the Washington Brewers Festival is offering more food choices than ever before. Choose from festival favorites like brats, gyros and fruit kebabs or go for the more upscale options like Skillet Street Food.
We have talked about the beer but there is more than beer to quench your thirst. Washington cider and wines will also be available for a change of pace. Root beer and other non-alcoholic beverage options are available as well. Check out the Root Beer Garden with premium craft root beer and soda by select Washington breweries.
Entertainment abounds this weekend for the entire family. The stage showcases a variety of music genres but I must admit that the people watching is always my favorite source of entertainment!
Friday evening is for adults only, but Saturday and Sunday the beer festival transforms to a family friendly event. Kids are welcome to celebrate Fathers’ Day weekend with dad while he enjoys a few of his favorite beers. Kids get to play in their own entertainment center full of inflatable toys and craft booths. Did I mention that kids get FREE admission when accompanied by their parents?
