What’s the best way to get pumped up for the Seahawk’s Super Bowl game? Start the celebration at Belgianfest, with Washington State beers. Every beer at the Washington Beer Commission’s 5th Annual Belgianfest is proudly made in Washington and highlight the exciting and delicious diversity accomplished with Belgian yeasts.

It is the diversity of styles and flavors of beers that intrigue me so much. Even with the limitation of using Belgian yeast strains you will be able to sample beers as diverse as Scuttlebutt Brewing’s Barrel Aged Jalapeno Tripel to Tripelhorn Brewing’s Saison, reminiscent of honeysuckle. to one our perennial favorites: the infamous Black Raven Brewing Bourbon Barrel Aged Petit La Mort. Expect mouth puckering sour beers, refreshing saisons, intense strong ales and lots of fruit, spice and liquor to accentuate the malt and/or hop notes of the beers.

Check out the complete mind blowing 2014 Belgianfest beer list here. There are so many different beers to try you may be tempted to attend both sessions, I can tell you that I will be there both sessions not only to maximize my tastes but also to spread them out a bit. There are some high octane beers on this list. Drink lots of water and let someone else do the driving.
