Auction of Washington Wines is unique in it’s two pronged mission to not only increase awareness of Washington wines but to support the local community. It is very proud to be celebrating its 30th year of supporting the Washington wine industry and a variety of local health and social agencies. In honor of this milestone, the annual three-day fundraising event promises to be even better than ever.
Come join the celebration of Washington wines during the Auction of Washington Wines weekend, August 17-19, 2017
Winemaker Picnic and Barrel Auction
The weekend kicks off with my personal favorite event, the Winemaker Picnic and Barrel Auction on August 17, 2017 at 4pm. What makes this event so special is the opportunity to “meet and mingle” with the winemakers as they stroll the concert grounds at Chateau Ste. Michelle winery pouring samples of their wine. In addition, aspiring wine owners will be able to bid on cases of yet to be released wines in the fun and competitive Barrel Auction. Since this is a picnic, there must be food and it is wonderful food prepared by the chefs at Tulalip Resort Casino’s acclaimed restaurants. Picnics are fun and casual. The Auction of Washington Wines Winemaker Picnic and Barrel Auction is the same – “wine country casual” is the dress code. Also be on the look out for fun games on the side that give you opportunities to win great wine and/or food prizes while contributing to a worthy social cause.
Private Barrel Auction
The 3rd Annual Private Barrel Auction takes place Friday, August 18, 2017 at 10am. This live action auction is by invitation only to licensed trade and media professionals. It is an exclusive and rare opportunity to experience and purchase lots from elite Washington winemakers not otherwise available.
Winemaker Dinners actually began back in June and will conclude in a mad flurry on August 18, 2017. Usually held in fine estates, this year, winemaker dinners extended to wineries as well.
