Are you looking for some great Washington wines for your summer sipping? The tenth annual Rosé Revival was a showcase of Washington wines, featuring both rosé wines and white wines. Twelve judges tasted 60 different wines from 30 different Washington wineries at this annual celebration of rosé wines at Ray’s Boathouse.

It wasn’t easy to narrow down the best Washington rosé and white wines because so many different styles of wine were represented. Wines ranged  from the jolly rancher sweet to bracingly tart in the  rosé category and a nice diversity of white varietals. That meant there were some clear favorites for the gold awards but also a lot of ties.

I was privileged to be one of the judges for this event. My first choice wines were easy decisions for me and agreed with the judges tallies. I was delighted by the old world elegance of the pale pink Robert Ramsay Rosé. This wine showcases a nice and refreshing blend of acidity, minerality and fruit. I am looking forward to getting a chance to really sit down and enjoy the Robert Ramsay Rosé on multiple occasions this summer!

It may not have been sunny outside but the Convergence Zone Sunburst Chenin Blanc brightened up my day. Clean, light, bright and with a pleasing fruitiness, this wine was my surprise of the night. I have nothing against Chenin Blanc, but it isn’t a wine that I am drawn to. However when my sip and spit duties of judging were complete, it was the Sunburst Chenin Blanc that I went back to sip and savor.

Ott and Murphy

Ott and Murphy won recognition in rose and white wine categories

A special recognition to Bartholmew Winery and to Ott and Murphy for judge recognition for TWO of their wines submitted for judging.

Rosé Revival is an annual event put on by Seattle Uncorked, to benefit the Ryther League. Ray’s Boathouse was the location of this fun event. It was a great evening to celebrate pink and the promise of summer, even under cloudy skies!
