The sun came out just in time for Naked City’s Tropic Juice Party. The Tropic Juice Party heralded the summer opening of the back bar in Walrus Beer Garden. Full of family fun, food, fruity beers, games and lots of sunshine, The Tropic Juice Party was a new addition to Seattle Beer Week.
The Tropic Juice Party
While the main Naked City bar is for 21 and over only, the Walrus Beer Garden is very kid and dog friendly. Naked City strives to be a community gathering place and they really seemed to be meeting that goal on Friday night. The picnic tables were full of families from the neighborhood, interspersed with beer industry folk enjoying Seattle Beer Week. Everyone was enjoying the games and something cold to drink!
The hit of the party was the Naked City Easy Island Pale Ale with Mango Frappe. This easy drinking Washington pale ale, bursting with pineapple, lychee, guava and mango fruit flavors, was turned into a refreshing beer cocktail. Mango purée was then blended into the Easy Island Pale Ale and then converted into a slushie.
Another crowd favorite was the Naked City Coconut Key Lime Kölsch. This smooth drinking session beer is subtly flavored. The coconut tastes fresh vs heavy and toasted. The key lime provides a refreshing tinge of acidity to this summer treat.
