The 12th Annual Elysian Great Pumpkin Beer Festival is coming to Elysian Fields and the North Lot of CenturyLink Field on October 8, 2016.
The Great Pumpkin Beer Festival features 80 different pumpkin beers from all over the country, including 20 different pumpkin beers from the pumpkin obsessed Elysian brewers. (I think that is a question on the Elysian’s brewer’s application form. Where did you last work? Followed by Are you obsessed by pumpkins?)
Orange is the color of the day, you will see it everywhere! We hope that you take it on as well as your festival attire. Celebrate in your best pumpkin orange finery and you may be rewarded! Great Pumpkin Beer Fest judges will be roaming through the crowds to select the most festive orange bunch of people to compete for a thirst quenching prize.
On Saturday, October 1, the week prior to the Great Pumpkin Beer Festival, Elysian will be hosting the 2nd Annual Great Pumpkin Weigh-Off at our Elysian Brewery in Seattle’s Georgetown neighborhood. Local farmers, of all ages, will be competing to see who grew the biggest, baddest pumpkin of them all. The winning pumpkin will have the honor of becoming the festival’s Pumpkin Beer Keg! Open to all ages and free. Celebrate pumpkin growers with pumpkin painting, food trucks and a beer garden for the over 21 crowd.
Pumpkin Beer Keg
One of the highlights of the festival is the pumpkin keg. A giant, several-hundred pound pumpkin is scooped, scorched and then filled with Elysian pumpkin beer. That gargantuan pumpkin is then sealed and conditioned and then tapped at the festival. Every year the pumpkin keg gets bigger and bigger!
