He Said, She Said, He Said Saturday Beer Favorites

With over 200 beers at the Washington Brewers’ Festival at St Edwards Park, there is a beer to please almost any palate. The beer lovers at Wine Beer Washington have different palates and your favorite beer profiles may not match ours. In fact, we rarely agree with each other but we sure do love our Washington beer!

Washington Brewers FestivalOn the Washington Brewers Festival’s 2011 opening night I was on my own.  Mobility issues limited most of my tasting to one beer tent but I tasted lots of beers to put a smile on my face. Three of us attacked the Father’s Day beer festival on Saturday. Of the approximately 30 beers that we tasted on Saturday these were some of our favorites. Not surprisingly, it was a Belgian Style Tripel that made it onto all three lists. Three other beers showed up on two out of three lists.

Jonathan’s Favorite Beers

You will notice that our favorite beer lists are heavily weighted to the seasonals and the funky beers. At brewfest we tend to spend our tokens on the beers that we may not be able to get at our favorite local brewpub. The notable exception is the Quilters’ Irish Death which is ALWAYS going to show up on Jonathan’s list, regardless of the season!

The Washington Brewers’ Festival continues on Fathers’ Day, Sunday June 19 from 11am to 6pm. Brewfest tickets are available at the gate for $25. On site parking is $15 (cash only) or take advantage of the free bus shuttle service. Free bus shuttles run between
