Cilantro and limes were added at the very end of the brewing process. The cilantro, citrus and hops greet your nose as you first bring the glass upwards to your face. I really don’t get much tomato flavor at first, but then the mild flavored salsa notes appear mid palate. When I see jalapeño on a beer description, I want to feel some heat. That is my opinion, not that of everyone else however. There is spice in this Washington beer but no real heat. That will appeal to Washington beer lovers that prefer spice over heat. It is an easy drinking beer to celebrate Cinco de Mayo and Seattle Beer Week with.
Floating Bridge Brewing released Salsa Cervesa in honor of Seattle Beer Week and Cinco de Mayo.
The Salsa Cervesa is the Floating Bridge Brewing Blonde Ale brewed with tomato and jalapeños.
While some special occasion beers get caught up in the hype, Floating Bridge Brewing Company doesn’t. Salsa Cerveza is a well balanced blonde ale with salsa flavors. It never tries to be a bowl of salsa, even though they did offer a side of chips with their Salsa Cervesa!
