Pike Brewing’s Annual Chocofest continues to charm me. How can it not – it’s all about CHOCOLATE! Throw in the hospitality of Rose Anne and Charles Finkel, top that off with the addition of specialty brews incorporating chocolate, proceeds from the event benefiting Seattle job training program FareStart and you’ve got an event that remains tops in my book. The Washington Beer Commission’s third annual Belgian Fest was held this past weekend at Bell Harbor Center on Pier 66. Bean, Jonathan and I attended on a beautiful Saturday afternoon making it heartbreaking to be indoors. The Beer Bloggers’ Conference is in Beer City (AKA Portland Oregon) this year. You would THINK that it would make it super easy for a Washington beer blogger to get there and enjoy it to the fullest but the Beer Gods were not smiling upon me yesterday. Don’t worry this is not a tale of woe. Great beer, fresh hops from the field and a sense of humor can really turn your day around!

Italianissimo continues their exquisite and FUN beer and wine dinner series on Thursday August 11th. This month, Chef Kent Betts partners with 21 Acres farm to craft a locally sourced, seasonal dinner: 5 beers. 5 wines. 5 courses. All beer, food and wine are local, sustainable, and/or organic.

With over 200 beers at the Washington Brewers’ Festival at St Edwards Park, there is a beer to please almost any palate. The beer lovers at Wine Beer Washington have different palates and your favorite beer profiles may not match ours. In fact, we rarely agree with each other but we sure do love our Washington beer!
