2009 Washington Brewers Festival: The Mother of All Fathers Day Festivals

Only a few more days to one of our favorite beer events, the Washington Brewers’ Festival at St. Edwards Park!

You just can’t go  wrong when you pair superb beers with a family friendly even at a beautiful park. Over thirty brewers will be pouring their brews from summer seasonal fare like Summer Creamsicle from Big E Ales and Black Cherry Saison from Rock bottom Brewery to classics like Manny’s Pale Ale from Georgetown Brewery andVienna Lager from Chuckanut Brewery and Kitchen to the unique like the Sweet and Sour Ginger from Trade Route (I LOVE this beer) and Coconut Porter from Ram Restaurant and Brewery. In addition to the beer, there will be a small number of wine and cider available for tasting.

There will be a Root Beer garden where breweries will be rotating their root beers and sodas. Participating breweries include:

-Big E Ales
– Boundary Bay Brewery
– Fremont Brewing Co.
– Gallagher’s Where U Brew
– Lazy Boy Brewing Co.
– Rock Bottom Brewery
– Silver City Brewery
– Trade Route Brewing Co.

There will be food vendors on site to meet your need for munchies. In years past the selections have ranged from sausages to beer to mexican food and desserts. Think street vendor food that will complement your beer and you will know what to expect.  There will be 3-4 vendors on Friday and a dozen on Saturday and Sunday.

Friday night is adults only, but Saturday and Sunday is a family affair. In addition to the Rootbeer Garden, there will be inflatable structures to play in, crafts tent and more to entertain the young ones.

Entertainment includes musical acts and the ever popular keg toss!

The festival runs Friday night (adult only with limited brewers), Saturday and Sunday all ages.
