Wine Blogger Conference Scholarships

I was one of the incredibly lucky Wine Blogger Conference Scholarship winners for 2009. The scholarship allowed me to learn a lot more about the wine industry, taste one heck of a lot of Napa Cabernet, meet wine bloggers from near and far, have some interesting conversations with wine makers and learn some tips that will be integrated into this blog in the very near future. I am very grateful to the following sponsors who made these scholarships available:

There is a lot of flack and conflict about wine bloggers these days, primarily from traditional media. It is so reaffirming to see wineries, bloggers and public relation firms step forward and help fund scholarships for bloggers to hone their skills. I am especially grateful and exciting to see wineries support the wine blogging conference.

Although the 2009 Wine Bloggers Conference just ended, organizers are already planning the next Wine Bloggers Conference, June 25-27, 2010 in Walla Walla Washington.  Walla Walla represents great opportunities for wine bloggers but it will represent some challenges as well for the part time blogger, particularly in terms of travel time and expenditures. Anyone that knows Washington wines knows that the trip and experience of quality Washington wines will be worth it. Although the conference will be housed in Walla Walla, participants will have opportunity to taste wines from all of the Washington wine appellations. You can help introduce a wine blogger and their readers to Washington Wines by contributing to the 2010 Wine Bloggers Conference in Walla Walla Scholarship Fund. You can contribute by volunteering as a Regional Ambassador, a selection committee member or of course by contributing a monetary donation on the Wine Blogger’s Conference Scholarship web site.  No amount is too small and all is gratefully appreciated!
