Kirkland Uncorked: Popping the cork on Wine, Dine & Design on the Waterfront

While others deal with  crowds and carnival food at the Bite of Seattle, you could sipping and sampling wine and food along the Kirkland waterfront this weekend. Kirkland Uncorked is the east side of the lake’s answer to a three day summer festival celebrating local wine, food and art.

Kirkland Uncorked consists of the Tasting Garden where you can sample wines, enjoy Pyramid beer by the glass, taste food from some of Kirkland’s best restaurants, shop for wine, enjoy musical entertainment and check off the grilling demonstrations and competitions. Entrance to the Tasting Garden, located in Marina Park, is by ticket only. A portion of all admission fees collected in the Tasting Garden will directly fund local research and education to fight heart disease via the Hope Heart Clinical Research Program at Evergreen Hospital.

Tasting Garden Hours:

  • Friday, July 16 ~ 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Saturday, July 17 ~ 1p.m.- 10 p.m.
  • Sunday, July 18 ~ 1p.m. – 6 p.m.

The Kirkland Uncorked Promenade also features Artist Lane, brought to you by Kirkland Arts Center, with more than 40 artist booths and shopping, festival food booths, CityDog Magazine’s Cover Dog Model Contest, boat showcase and the Kirkland Classic Car Show. The promenade in downtown Kirkland is free and open to the public.

Promenade Hours:

  • Friday, July 16 ~ 2 p.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Saturday, July 17 ~ 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Sunday, July 18 ~ 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

2010 Kirkland Uncorked Participating Wineries

Come by and try the 98.1 Classical KING-FM signature wine by Chateau Ste. Michelle poured exclusively at the 98.1 Classical KING-FM exhibit booth. You can take the Kirkland Uncorked experience home with you by purchasing a bottle of this limited-edition wine at The Kirkland Uncorked Wine Shop presented by The Grape Choice.

Design

The Kirkland Uncorked Promenade, presented by Verizon, will be alive with art from local, regional and nationally recognized artists in all mediums. In addition to the art displayed on the Promenade, visit the Arts for All exhibit and experience clay throwing demonstrations, drawing activities for the public and kids’ art activities. All this is brought to our guests with collaboration of Kirkland’s many arts and culture organizations including Kirkland Arts CenterKirkland Performance CenterKirkland Choral Society and Studio East.
