Five reasons to enjoy Oktoberfest in Spokane

The Washington Beer Commission Oktoberfest is coming to Spokane on September 24-September 26, 2010. This is the very first Washington Beer Commission sanctioned event east of  the cascades. That is great news for folks in Eastern Washington and a great opportunity to take a trip to Spokane

  1. Riverfront Park

Spokane Oktoberfest is being held at the beautiful and historic Riverfront park.

  2. The weather forecast in Seattle this weekend is clouds, rain and temperatures in the 60s. The weather forecast in Spokane this weekend is temperatures in the 70s, sunny with scattered clouds.
  3. Tickets are only $20 if you purchase online or $25 per day if you buy tickets at the gate. A three-day pass is only $50. Admission includes commemorative tasting cup and six 5oz tastes per day. WABL members get a special event stein!
  4. West is not always best – Often the beer contributions east of the cascades are overlooked. Part of this due to the nature of nano and micro brewing. When there is only a bit of beer brewed, it tends be consumed close to the source. Some of the fault lies in our archaic distribution laws that can make it challenging to get the beer  to the more densely populated areas of our state. But remember where all of those hops come from! Spokane Oktoberfest is an opportunity to taste those beers that may not be available in your corner of the state.
  5. WASHINGTON BEER! Over 20 Washington breweries will be pouring over 45 different Washington beers. The beers range from Hefeweizen to Porter, with a special emphasis on seasonal brews.

  1. There will actually be 20 breweries at the Spokane Oktoberfest. Diamond Knot Brewery (Mukilteo, WA) will also be attending and will be pouring our IPA & Vienna Style Ale.

    Thank you, Patti

Thanks Patti. Pat was the first person to tell me that the Oktoberfest was going to be in Spokane so I was really surprised that Diamond wasn’t listed on the list I had
