Celebrate Groundhog day with exotic wines from Washington state. Yes, you read that right. Washington has a great diversity of wine grape varietals. Drink Albarino, Cinsault, Mouvedre, Tempranillo and other varietals associated with far away regions. Wine Century Club

If you are working on your Wine Century Club, basically the bragging rights to say that you have sampled 100 grape varietals, this event is a great place to start working on your list. You will be able to check off at least 10 from the list while ensuring your dollars are supporting Washington wine AND the Art with Heart organization. Check out the brand new local Puget Sound Century Club to connect up with others looking for interesting grape varietals to try.

Art with Heart

The Art with Heart organization serves children in crisis. Art with Heart provides  therapy-based books and programs to children experiencing special health care needs or mental health disorders. Art with Heart reaches high-risk children, who have little or no control over their life circumstances and have the least access to mental health support. Their goal is to support 3,500 children through healing via creativity and self expression.

Tickets for this fun fundraiser are only $40 and are available via Brown Paper Tickets. For more information contact:  info@artwithheart.org  •  206.362.4047

The best reason, and what I enjoyed most in pursuing the Wine Century Club, is the history, geography and detective work involved. Identifying and tracking unusual grapes requires gaining knowledge from books, websites, bottles, wine professionals and other wine enthusiasts. Bragging rights are the icing on the cake.
