Barrel Auction and Winemaker Picnic

Shayn Bjornholm - Barrel Auction

How much would you pay for a BARREL of fantastic Washington wine to share with friends? I am talking some of the best wine in Washington state like Adams Bench, L’Ecole N° 41, Woodward Canyon and many more? How much would you pay if you knew that the money that you bid on that barrel goes to supporting uncompensated care at Seattle Childrens Hospital? A very special wine for you and your friends that also helps children receive desperately needed medical care?

Barrel tasting with wine makers

The Auction of Washington Wines Barrel Auction and Winemaker Picnic is a fun and festive event that allows you to interact with growers, winemakers as you taste their wines.  Taste barrel samples of the wine and talk with the wine makers before you bid on the wines.

Barrel wine is the feature but it is far from the only attraction of the Barrel Auction and Winemaker picnic. In addition to the wineries that donated a barrel to the cause, many other Washington wineries will be wandering the grounds of Chateau Ste Michelle, pouring their wines. That is right, winemakers and their staff will be coming to you to serve you a taste of their wine. This is more than just your hot dog picnic food, Tulalip Resort Chefs will be providing exquisite food for your picnic.

Last year, Tulalip Casino Resort served tantalizing food ranging from Proscuitto wrapped,  pecan crusted chicken thighs with raspberry buerre blanc to grilled salmon to seven bean salad to yellow tomato gazpacho in cucumber cups. All topped off with a dizzying array of delicious desserts. The Goober bars were a big hit last year!
